First CRC is denominationally affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church of North America (CRCNA), which includes just over one thousand congregations across the United States and Canada. About 75 percent of the churches are in the United States; 25 percent are in Canada. We’re one of only a few remaining binational denominations. Starting in 1877, Hanford quickly grew from a settlement into a town due to railway interest. Hanford quickly became a central trading post and has continued to grow to approximately 56,000 people today. Founded in 1876, Calvin Theological Seminary is the oldest denominational ministry and the sole theological seminary of the Christian Reformed Church in North America. A majority of ordained ministers who serve in CRCNA congregations have received their primary theological education at CTS (including all of our Pastors: Joel, Justin and Lambert).
